How do I set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on my Online and Mobile Banking Account?

Multi-factor authentication provides an extra layer of security by requiring you to provide your password as well as a one-time passcode (usually sent to you by text, email, or phone call) to sign in to anything from your online banking account at Jovia to your social media accounts.

You can enable this feature in online and mobile banking by following these steps:

Log into online banking, click “My Settings”, scroll down to “Security Options” and click the “Edit” link (step 1 in the image below).

This will take you to the “Confirming your identity page”, you will have the option to choose which multi-factor authentication method you would like to use.

  • Phone: Confirm your identity through responding to a call or a text with a one-time code. Input your phone number in the “By Phone” section, enter your password at the bottom of the page, and click the “Save” button.
  • Authenticator: Confirm your identity through an authenticator code. Flip the authenticator switch from OFF to ON in the “By authenticator” section, enter your password at the bottom of the page, and click save. After entering your password and clicking save, a QR code and authenticator code will appear under Security Options.

Next, you will open your chosen authenticator app on your mobile device and either scan the QR code or enter the authenticator code.

  • Email: Confirm your identity through email by receiving a one-time security code by email. Flip the email switch from OFF to ON in the “By email” section, enter your password at the bottom of the page, and click save.

Now, you have added another method of confirming your identity to your online and mobile banking account.

Remember: Never share these one-time codes with anyone.
