I’m planning to change my homeowners insurance company. What should I do?

First, ensure that the following mortgagee clause is listed on your current insurance policy:

Jovia Financial It's Successors and/or Assigns

P.O. Box 924302

Ft. Worth, TX 76124

If you have a non-escrow loan:

  • You must ensure there is no lapse in coverage.
  • You must maintain continuous insurance coverage for the life of your loan.
  • Have the following mortgagee clause listed on your new insurance policy, and ensure that a copy of the new policy is mailed the same address:
Jovia Financial It's Successors and/or Assigns
    P.O. Box 924302
    Ft. Worth, TX 76124

If you have an escrow loan and you are changing your policy and you wish to have the new policy paid from your escrow account:

  • Provide a copy of the new policy and bill to Jovia at least 30 days prior to the expiration of your current policy.
  • You must cancel your current policy the day prior to your new policy taking effect to ensure you have no lapse in coverage.
  • Ensure that any refund you receive is sent to Jovia to deposit into your escrow account.
  • Failure to send the refund to be deposited in your escrow account will more than likely result in a shortage in your account which will increase your mortgage payment.
  • Only one policy change can be paid from your escrow account in any rolling 12-month period.

You may also provide any insurance documents you receive to Jovia by mailing them to the address above or by emailing those documents to [email protected].

This will ensure that:

  • Any payments made from an escrow account to renew the policy are made timely.
  • Will avoid communications from Jovia requesting evidence of insurance.
