Jovia Financial Credit Union today announced that the organization has been named a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion finalist in The Credit Union Times LUMINARIES national awards program for 2022. The leading national credit union publication and resource established this new program to recognize those credit unions that consistently take creative and bold steps to positively impact their company, employees, members, community and the financial services industry as a whole.

The LUMINARIES program’s Class of 2022 finalists are being honored for the dynamic and inclusive ways they are driving the credit union industry forward in four categories including 1) Executive Leadership, 2) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, 3) Innovation in Technology, and 4) Productive Innovation.

To qualify for the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category, companies need to demonstrate their ability to go above and beyond in their efforts to ensure equality and unleash the untapped potential of all employees and executives. These organizations must also demonstrate a proven track record of attracting and advancing the careers of individuals of different ethnicities, genders, ages, religions, disabilities and sexual orientations, and with differences in education, personalities, skill sets, experiences and knowledge bases. At the same time, organizations must strive to share the strengths of these efforts broadly through transparent informative and educational activities.

"Led by our dedicated Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, Jovia employees reflect our internal culture and diversity as an organization of inclusion, and our commitment to the highest ethical standards, service and excellence. This national recognition by The Credit Union Times comes at a critical time with expansion on our horizon, and will create positive impacts not only on our existing service areas but within all the communities we serve," said John Deieso, Jovia Financial Credit Union President and CEO.

Jovia’s profile will be featured on The Credit Union Times’ website, along with all finalists in each of the four categories in the upcoming October and November print issues. This year’s inaugural LUMINARIES finalists are being reviewed by a diverse panel of judges from across the credit union industry, and a select group of winners will be announced on stage at the program’s first awards dinner and gala, which will take place on November 9, 2022 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC.
