Splish Splash Water Park and Jovia Financial Credit Union hosted their second annual ‘Carefree Day of Fun in the Sun’ on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Over 100 children from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and The Power House Youth Group, their families and mentors, were treated to a carefree day which included admission for a full day at the water park and a voucher for food and drinks.
Each year Jovia and Splish Splash select two youth-focused non-profits that support young people and provide a full day of recreation where kids can simply be kids. Over 50 of the attendees were from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, an organization that offers and supports one-to-one mentoring that ignites the power and promise of youth. An additional group of 50 attendees were from The Power House Youth Group, a youth program dedicated to children in Lakeview and Hempstead offering summer day programs.
“For the second consecutive year, Jovia teamed up with Splish Splash to create a special and memorable experience for children and families. This is an opportunity for kids from both programs to enjoy a carefree day of fun and sun at the water park,” said Rich Tavarez, Community Relations Officer, Jovia Financial Credit Union. “Jovia is committed to partnering with non-profit organizations across Long Island to provide opportunities for underserved youth with engaging activities and educational programs.”

Jovia also provided each attendee with a string backpack, a tee shirt and a Jovia water bottle. Jovia will follow up the ‘Carefree Day of Fun in the Sun’ event later this summer with financial literacy education days for youth and families of each organization.
