It gives us great pleasure to announce that Jovia Financial Credit Union was just selected by Long Island Business News (LIBN) as the recipient of their 2022 Diversity in Business Award for Commitment to Opportunity. LIBN’s Diversity in Business Awards highlights the outstanding achievements of professionals of diverse backgrounds and abilities, and those who actively support the growth of diversity and equality in our community. This honor is the result of our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee’s ongoing dedication to celebrate and sustain everyone’s distinctiveness with humanity and equality.
In less than a year since its inception, our DE&I Committee has worked tirelessly to reflect upon internal culture and diversity and center ourselves as an organization of inclusion. We have planned numerous events and fundraisers, encouraging creativity and employee engagement at all levels of our organization. This recognition by LIBN will further fuel Jovia’s diligence in promoting the sharing of ideas, traditions, and life experiences that demonstrate that there are more things that unite us than those that divide us. Members of the DE&I Committee attended a celebratory brunch as LIBN’s guests of honor at the Crest Hollow Country Club on March 22nd.
