This year’s conference themed “Defining Leadership for Our Lives, Our Careers and Our Communities” was dedicated to empowering young women with resources and opportunities to develop into influential leaders.

Topics discussed at the Women’s Leadership Conference focused on leadership, career development and personal growth. Renu Dalessandro, Jovia Financial Credit Union’s Chief Marketing Officer was a panelist for a presentation titled, “Building Your Brand” encouraging young women to build a strong, supportive, and receptive network around their brand, and how to maintain and improve brand perception through social media and communication. Chaka Adams, Jovia Financial Credit Union’s Vice President Marketing & Community Relations, spoke as a panelist at a breakout session titled, “Finding your Leadership Style: What Kind of Leader Are You?” where she discussed discovering leadership styles and how to leverage your leadership style in your own way.

Christine M. Riordan, PhD, President of Adelphi University, gives her appreciation to all contributors and states, “I want to thank all our panelists and moderators for their insight and dedication to advancing and mentoring women in the workplace and beyond.”

The Women’s Leadership Conference is open to members of the Adelphi community and to the public and is a powerful day of learning and networking. Adelphi University has been committed to preparing women for leadership roles in their workplaces and communities for over 125 years, and this year the conference welcomed more than 350 attendees.
