ovia hit the ground running during the first weekend of May with more than 25,000 people coming out for the 2024 Jovia Long Island Marathon at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow in Nassau County. Noted as one of Long Island’s most exciting public athletic events of the year, the weekend of May 3 through May 5 was much more than just races and marathons and Jovia Financial Credit Union was front and center throughout the park as the title sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.

The 51st annual marathon weekend saw close to 3,700 athletes running throughout the weekend-long festivities. The final day of the marathon weekend featured a 1K Kids Fun Run, 5K Family Fun Run, 10K Race, Half Marathon and Marathon, as well as a Food Truck Festival.

“What an awesome time we had at the Jovia Financial Credit Union Long Island Marathon Weekend,” said The Race Director Corey Roberts. “The Marathon Weekend brings together people from all over the globe and we had a record turnout this year.”

As an organization of positivity and inclusion, Jovia is committed to supporting the communities of Long Island and is passionate about bringing people together. The Jovia Long Island Marathon did just that while celebrating friendly competition. The athletic event also raised awareness and funds for two non-profit organizations, Nassau Parks Conservancy and Friends of Karen.

“Giving back and supporting the community is what Jovia is all about, it’s the heart and soul of our organization,” commented Trish Graffigino, Assistant Vice President, Marketing. “We had a number of employees volunteer throughout the weekend, and some of our employees competed in races. There is so much dedication that goes into an event like this and we’re proud of all those that participated.”
