For its generous support over the years, our VP of Business Development Peter Purpura and Jovia Financial Credit Union were honored at CP Nassau’s first-ever Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser, titled, The Best Laid Plans. The event was held at the Westbury Manor on Saturday, November 2. This unique event even featured Mr. Purpura, who was recruited on the spot to play a leading role within the mystery show.
CP Nassau Executive Director Karen Geller-Hittleman and Event Chairman Joel Meltzer expressed gratitude and appreciation on behalf the agency for the countless volunteering initiatives and work that Mr. Purpura and the Jovia team does for children and adults served by CP Nassau. The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County has been assisting individuals with disabilities since 1948. Today, close to 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities benefit from the quality programs and services offered that help all move forward to reach independence and their best life.
In his speech, Peter humbly recounted his first encounter with CP Nassau and what that has meant to him over the years. “I left the center that day with the desire to be involved and to do whatever I could for this organization. Over the years I’ve realized that I’ve received so much more in return than I can ever give.”
Accepting the award on behalf of Jovia, Peter stated, “People become members of Jovia because they see how committed we are to the Long Island community and giving back through financial education and wellness, acts of charity, and in partnering with organizations and associations like CP Nassau. Our purpose at Jovia is to empower people to lead better lives, and I think that is a reason why an organization like ours aligns so well with an organization like CP Nassau.”
Jovia Financial Credit Union is proud to be a partner with CP Nassau through volunteering, supporting their sensory program, and continuing to provide financial wellness programs.
