Funding Your Ideas (FYI) Teacher Grants

Application Period: July 15 – October 15
 

Jovia's Funding Your Ideas (FYI) Teacher Grant program provides up to $500 to eligible teachers and educators. This grant program brings ideas to life in the classroom.

The submission period for applications ends October 15th.
 

Application Requirements:

  • Complete an online application
  • Submit an anonymous written proposal
  • Ensure project name/title is visible on your application and on all proposal documents submitted
  • Review the updated proposal guidelines prior to submitting your application

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Open to all those who provide educational support to students in a classroom environment from pre-K through 12th grade in Nassau or Suffolk County private, public, or parochial schools.
  • Teacher applicants must be a member in good standing of Jovia Financial Credit Union to be an eligible candidate.

Proposal Requirements:

Write an anonymous proposal that explains all of the following items outlined below. Please note proposals should be written in a numbered list format, with each answer corresponding to the questions below in the order listed. Each question should be addressed clearly and concisely. Proposals with incomplete responses will not be eligible for review.

  1. Project title.
  2. Number of students reached by project.
  3. Age/grade level to which project is directed.
  4. Brief description of the project (maximum 1/2 page).
  5. How is the project innovative or why this is an area of special need in your building or classroom?
  6. a) What are the project's objectives?
    b) How will they be measured?
  7. What is the projected long-term effect of this project on your students, school, or district?
  8. Provide a brief timeline of project implementation/completion.
  9. Have there been or are there currently similar projects underway in other classrooms or in your district? If yes, were the past projects successful? Why or why not? If not, what will make your project successful?
  10. a) List an itemized breakdown of all costs, include vendor information when applicable.
    b) State you project budget (Minimum $25.00 - Maximum $500.00)

Additional Notes:

Winners will be announced 6-8 weeks following the application deadline; dependent upon Committee review. All decisions are final and made by the Jovia Teacher Grant Committee. Grants will be issued in amounts up to $500.00 and distributed directly into the recipients' share account via direct deposit. Building principals will also be notified of award.

Please note: Jovia Financial Credit Union employees, family members, and its affiliates are not permitted to apply for Jovia Financial Credit Union grants.

Jovia reserves the right to disqualify any applicant not following directions or providing required documents.

Each applicant may submit one (1) grant proposal; educators may apply yearly.
