Funding Your Ideas (FYI) Teacher Grants
Application Period: July 15 – October 31
Jovia's Funding Your Ideas (FYI) Teacher Grant program provides up to $500 to eligible teachers and educators. This grant program brings ideas to life in the classroom.
The submission period for applications ends October 31st.
Application Requirements:
- Complete an online application
- Submit an anonymous written proposal
- Ensure project name/title is visible on your application and on all proposal documents submitted
- Review the detailed proposal guidelines prior to submitting your application
Eligibility Requirements:
- Open to all those who provide educational support to students in a classroom in Nassau or Suffolk County private, public or parochial schools
- Teacher applicants must be a member in good standing of Jovia Financial Credit Union to be an eligible candidate.

Proposal Requirements:
Write a proposal that explains all of the following in detail. Download a sample proposal here.
- Project title.
- Number of students reached by project.
- Age/grade level to which project is directed.
- Brief description of the project.
- How is the project innovative or why this is an area of special need in your building or classroom?
- What is the projected long-term effect of this project on your students, school or district?
- What are the project's objectives and how will they be measured?
- Provide a brief timeline of project implementation/completion.
- Have there been or are there currently similar projects underway in your district?
- If yes, were the past projects successful? Why or why not? If not, what will make your project successful?
- Are you aware of your suggestion being used in other classrooms and if so, how successful was it?
- State your project budget (estimated itemized costs).
- Amount of funds requested (minimum $25.00 - maximum $500.00).
Additional Notes:
Winners will be announced 8-10 weeks following the application deadline; dependent upon Committee review.
All decisions are final and made by the Jovia Teacher Grant Committee of the Board of Directors.
Grants will be issued in amounts up to $500 and distributed directly to the educator. Building principals will also be notified of award.

By submitting an application, you further release Jovia Financial Credit Union from any responsibility or liability for damages, losses, or injury resulting from acceptance, or use of grant, in the event you are selected as a winner. In addition, you also grant Jovia Financial Credit Union permission to use and advertise your name and picture as a winner without additional compensation. All application materials must be submitted electronically. Please note: Jovia Financial Credit Union employees, family members, and its affiliates are not permitted to apply for Jovia Financial Credit Union grants.
The use of artificial intelligence or ChatGPT for the essay portion of the application is strictly prohibited.
Jovia reserves the right to disqualify any applicant not following directions or providing required documents.
Each applicant may submit up to 2 grant proposals; teachers may apply yearly.
