Each year Jovia and Splish Splash select two youth-focused non-profits that support young people and provide a full day of recreation where kids can simply be kids. Over 50 of the attendees were from Long Island Head Start, an organization that offers various programs to support children’s growth and development in a positive learning environment. An additional group of 50 attendees were from Hey There Beautiful Foundation, based in Brooklyn, NY, which seeks to empower women and young girls to achieve their life goals through education, motivation, self-awareness and self-development.

“We are very excited to create this special and memorable experience for local children and their families to enjoy a carefree day of fun and sun at the water park for the third year in a row,” said Rich Tavarez, Community Relations Officer, Jovia Financial Credit Union. “Jovia is committed to partnering with non-profit organizations across the area to provide opportunities for underserved youth with engaging activities and educational programs.”

“We share Jovia’s commitment to giving back to our community and doing our part to show that successful Long Island businesses truly care about people,” said Mike Bengtson, General Manager, Splish Splash. “As we continue to build on our long history of being Long Island’s top summer destination, we enjoyed providing these families with a fun and memorable day.”

Jovia also provided each attendee with a string backpack, a tee shirt and a Jovia water bottle. Jovia will follow up the ‘Carefree Day of Fun in the Sun’ event later this summer with financial literacy education days for youth and families of each organization.
