Jovia set the pace well before the race began, and more than 34,000 people came out to the Jovia Long Island Marathon this year – one of Long Island’s most exciting public athletic events. The full slate of events ran from Friday, May 2, straight through Sunday, May 4, at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. Jovia Financial Credit Union was front and center throughout the park as the title sponsor for the seventh consecutive year.

The 52nd annual marathon weekend saw close to 4,200 athletes participating throughout the weekend-long festivities. The event kicked off with a Food Truck Festival at Marathon Village and a concert featuring the Allmost Brothers. The Friday Night Lights 5K Kickoff commenced at 8 p.m. The final day of the marathon weekend featured a 1K Kids Fun Run, 5K Family Fun Run, 10K Race, Half Marathon and Marathon, as well as a culmination to the Food Truck Festival. This year’s event also featured a virtual race option for participants to compete on their own time.

“What an awesome time we had at the Jovia Financial Credit Union Long Island Marathon Weekend,” said The Race Director Corey Roberts. “The Marathon Weekend brings together people from all over the globe and we had another record turnout this year. I cannot thank Jovia enough for continuing their support as the title sponsor of the marathon.”

As an organization of positivity and inclusion, Jovia is committed to supporting the communities of Long Island and is passionate about bringing people together. The Jovia Long Island Marathon continues to do just that while celebrating friendly competition. The athletic event also raised awareness and funds for two non-profit organizations, Nassau Parks Conservancy and Friends of Karen.
