Jovia Financial Credit Union’s Community Involvement Committee (CIC), in conjunction with its DE&I Committee, coordinated a joint “green” Book Donation Drive to not only promote reducing/reusing/recycling but to honor Reading Literacy Month.

Employees from across the credit union donated gently used books to benefit the non-profit Book Fairies organization. Book Fairies “sources and redistributes books to under-resourced communities on Long Island, NYC and internationally to provide equitable opportunities for children to learn, grow and thrive.”

Thanks to the generous contributions and spirit of our staff, more than 30 boxes of books were donated, and a dozen employees volunteered to assist sorting and boxing up the books at the Book Fairies warehouse in Freeport, NY.
